AI agents enable faster and higher-quality outcomes in infrastructure design and operations.

New York and Tokyo, October 14 /PRNewswire/ — Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), Toyota Systems Corporation (“Toyota Systems”), and Toyota Finance Corporation (“Toyota Finance”) today announced that Kyndryl and Toyota Systems are supporting Toyota Finance in transforming its IT services operations. The project will leverage agentic AI to enhance infrastructure design, change management, and impact analysis processes.

Kyndryl and Toyota Systems will apply the Kyndryl Agentic AI Framework to implement AI-native workflows within Toyota Finance’s enterprise IT operations. The two parties are developing an IT change management operations solution that will deploy AI agents using customer-specific rules and knowledge—including IT environments, runbooks, and operational schedules—to identify inconsistencies and potential risks.

Akira Umehara, Head of the IT Division at Toyota Finance, said: “People are the key to sustainable growth. By enabling highly skilled engineers from Toyota Systems and Kyndryl to leverage technologies such as agentic AI, we can create a virtuous cycle that allows people to focus on embracing new challenges and generating greater value. Our goal is to transform digital technology into a force that drives business itself.”

Iwao Nakano, Specialist and Head of the IT Division at Toyota Systems Finance, said: “To help build a sustainable mobility society, we have launched a plan to transform our IT operations in a way that supports this goal. In the future, we will collaborate even more closely with Kyndryl to apply human-centered agentic AI across the entire IT lifecycle. In other words, this embodies the same principle as jidoka—‘automation with a human touch.’ By combining frontline expertise with digital technologies, we will create value through continuous improvement.”

Yoshinori Irisawa, President of Kyndryl Japan, said: "Kyndryl’s infrastructure-first approach to agentic AI deployment enables us to support enterprise AI adoption at production scale while balancing scalability and security in mission-critical systems. We will continue to work closely with our customers to help them deploy AI securely and effectively, while maintaining strong governance and operational resilience."

Under the joint initiative of Kyndryl, Toyota Systems, and Toyota Finance, Toyota Finance will deploy agentic AI in its production environment to respond more rapidly to evolving business needs while maintaining high-quality infrastructure services that comply with corporate governance standards. Additionally, this initiative will enhance business continuity and help improve engineering productivity at Toyota Finance. This AI agent-enabled upgrade will increase efficiency and standardize the quality of review workflows. Impact analysis of system changes shows that AI agents can simultaneously reduce decision-making time and engineer workload. Kyndryl, Toyota Systems, and Toyota Finance plan to further extend the application of agentic AI across the entire IT infrastructure lifecycle to drive broader transformation of IT service processes.
