The two parties will collaborate on cross-border trade and digital economy development between China and Cambodia, focusing on cross-border payment and settlement, digital financial tools, e-commerce fund flows, compliance exchanges, and trade finance, while jointly promoting Klickl’s localization in Cambodia.

Guochuang Silk Road Group is the implementing unit of the China Initiative for Innovation and Development Strategy (CIIDS) for corporate overseas expansion services, with long-term involvement in Chinese enterprises’ internationalization, cross-border investment and trade, and overseas project services. Klickl provides financial services support for businesses operating across markets, leveraging its digital financial infrastructure capabilities in accounts, payments, settlement, custody, trading, and compliance.

Both parties hope that this collaboration will further integrate enterprise overseas expansion services, local market resources, and digital financial infrastructure to provide a more robust financial services foundation for cross-border trade between China and Cambodia and for Chinese enterprises entering the ASEAN market.

Focus on five key areas of cooperation to serve Cambodia-China cross-border trade.

According to the mutual cooperation plan, future efforts will focus on:

  • Build a compliant cross-border payment and settlement network for foreign trade enterprises.
  • Develop digital financial tools tailored to Cambodia's commercial landscape
  • Support the infrastructure development for cross-border e-commerce fund flows
  • Conduct exchanges and talent training on digital finance compliance topics
  • Provide comprehensive financial services such as supply chain finance and trade finance.

Unlike collaborations focused on a single product or payment channel, this partnership emphasizes how digital financial capabilities can be integrated into real-world scenarios such as cross-border trade, e-commerce, and business operations.

As Chinese enterprises expand in the ASEAN market from exporting goods to investing, local operations, and supply chain deployment, demand for cross-border financial services is becoming increasingly diverse. Both sides will gradually enhance cross-border payment, fund transfer, and comprehensive financial service capabilities between China and Cambodia, based on the actual operational needs of businesses.

Advance local operations and establish long-term market service capabilities.

In addition to business collaboration, Klickl is simultaneously advancing the establishment and localization of a local company in Cambodia, with Guochuang Silk Road Group planning to participate as a strategic shareholder in the development of the local company.

In the future, Klickl will build on its local team and entity, aligning with Cambodia’s regulatory requirements and real-world business environment, to actively expand partnerships with local banks, payment providers, and compliance resources, fostering deeper collaborations with local financial institutions and industry partners to gradually roll out relevant products and services.

This means that Klickl’s presence in Cambodia is evolving from cross-border services toward building local entities, local resources, and long-term operational capabilities.

As a global digital financial infrastructure platform headquartered in the UAE, Klickl has accumulated practical experience across multiple markets in building compliance systems, partnering with financial institutions, and implementing business scenarios. This collaboration with Guochuang Silk Road Group will further apply these capabilities to China-Cambodia trade and the local Cambodian market.

Using Cambodia as a pivot, explore the digital new economic chain between China, the Arab world, and Cambodia.

The significance of this partnership extends beyond bilateral business between China and Cambodia.

As Chinese enterprises continue to enter ASEAN, markets such as Cambodia are increasingly taking on demands for trade, investment, and local operations. Meanwhile, regions like the UAE are continuously strengthening their role as financial hubs connecting Asia, the Middle East, and global capital markets.

For Klickl, headquartered in the UAE, the internationalization needs of Chinese enterprises, the local markets of Cambodia and ASEAN, and the UAE’s strategic location and resource advantages in connecting to global financial networks form a complementary regional financial landscape.

Therefore, this collaboration with Guochuang Silk Road Group will serve as a concrete step for Klickl in exploring the digital economy connection between China, the UAE, and Cambodia.

Starting from cross-border payments between China and Cambodia, digital trade, and localized financial services, both parties will further explore more efficient, compliant, and sustainable regional digital financial cooperation models to provide financial infrastructure support for Chinese enterprises’ internationalization and regional trade development. Klickl also aims to work with partners to build a new digital financial channel rooted in the local economy, serving the real economy, and capable of regional expansion.
