Odaily Planet Daily report: Japanese storage chip manufacturer Kioxia Holdings announced that its net profit for the July–September 2026 quarter is expected to reach ¥1.27 trillion, representing a year-over-year increase of approximately 31 times. The company stated that demand for NAND flash memory continues to rise, driven by increased investment in AI data centers.
Kioxia also announced a share repurchase program of up to ¥800 billion (approximately $5.3 billion), aiming to repurchase up to 30 million shares, representing about 5.5% of outstanding shares; additionally, the company plans to implement a 3-for-1 stock split on October 1.
Company data shows that sales related to data centers increased more than fivefold year-over-year to JPY 1.1747 trillion in the April-June quarter. Due to strong demand for AI servers causing supply constraints in storage, Kioxia’s NAND product prices rose by approximately 70% in the previous quarter, and the company expects the supply-demand imbalance to persist until 2027.
