According to The Defiant, Kinetiq, the liquid staking protocol within the Hyperliquid ecosystem, has announced the termination of its kPoints points program. Holders of kPoints will not receive KNTQ tokens for free but will instead be granted the right to purchase tokens at a fixed price. Kinetiq allocated 50 million KNTQ tokens for this program, with a purchase price of $0.26 per token and a 10-day claim window. If fully claimed, the program is expected to generate $13 million in revenue. On the market, KNTQ was trading at approximately $0.422 before the announcement. After the news broke, the price dropped as low as $0.281—a maximum decline of about 33%—before recovering to around $0.325, still down approximately 23% from pre-announcement levels. Kinetiq stated that any unclaimed KNTQ tokens after the 10-day period will be returned to the Kinetiq Foundation for use in ecosystem and growth initiatives. Previously, approximately 36.8 million kPoints had been distributed under the program.
