Kelp DAO has moved rsETH to Chainlink CCIP to enhance security amid ongoing disputes over a $292 million hack. On-chain data shows that 116,500 rsETH was stolen via a LayerZero bridge exploit. Kelp asserts the default configuration was secure, while LayerZero claims it was modified. Altcoins to watch may include tokens impacted by shifts in cross-chain security.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that Kelp DAO has announced the migration of its restaking token, rsETH, to Chainlink CCIP, stating that the move aims to enhance security. Previously, on April 18, Kelp DAO’s cross-chain bridge built on LayerZero was attacked, resulting in the theft of approximately 116,500 rsETH, valued at around $292 million, which the hacker subsequently used as collateral to borrow WETH on Aave v3.

Regarding the cause of the vulnerability, LayerZero previously stated that the issue stemmed from Kelp DAO’s use of a single DVN verification path instead of multiple independent verifications. Kelp DAO responded that this configuration was the default setting and that LayerZero had previously confirmed its security without highlighting any associated risks. LayerZero CEO Bryan Pellegrino later denied these claims, asserting that Kelp DAO had actively modified the default multi-DVN configuration. Both parties continue to dispute responsibility.
