Odaily Planet Daily reports that the prediction market platform Kalshi has received approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to launch gold and silver perpetual contracts on September 10, marking the CFTC’s first approved perpetual contract product outside the cryptocurrency space. Kalshi was initially approved in late May this year to offer cryptocurrency perpetual contracts, and the notional trading volume of these products has since reached $44 billion. Kalshi noted that trading volume for its gold and silver event contracts exceeded $400 million over the past seven months, driving its expansion into precious metals perpetual contracts. Additionally, Kalshi is seeking approval to launch perpetual contracts tied to U.S. equities, copper, and foreign exchange. (CNBC)
