Odaily Planet Daily reports that quantitative trading firms Jump Trading and DRW are deploying their trading teams and proprietary capital to enter the emerging AI computing derivatives market.
Among them, Jump Trading has formed a dedicated trading team to assume trading risks using its own balance sheet, providing market-making services for the computing power futures proposed by CME and Silicon Data, as well as the competing contracts launched by ICE and Ornn.
DRW plans to participate in hashpower trading through three teams employing different strategies and has planned to trade Silicon Data’s related products, but has not yet determined whether it will participate in other hashpower contracts.
Analysts note that the hashpower derivatives market still faces challenges such as insufficient price transparency, significant variations in GPU prices across regions and configurations, and the inability to store hashpower. (Bloomberg)
