The number of funding events rose 4.5% month-over-month from 44 in June but declined 41.0% year-over-year from 78 in the same period last year. Additionally, 18 M&A transactions were not included in the above statistics. In terms of sector distribution, CeFi was the highest-funded sector this month, with 9 deals totaling approximately $1.23 billion. Infrastructure recorded the highest number of deals at 12, raising about $413 million. DeFi completed 11 funding rounds but disclosed only $34.25 million in total funding, reflecting a pattern of “high activity but low individual deal sizes.” The top three funded projects by amount were Crypto.com ($400 million), Ionic Digital ($400 million), and Securitize ($400 million). Other significant recipients included Augustus ($180 million), Alpaca ($135 million), Prime Intellect ($130 million), and Gauntlet ($125 million). The top five projects collectively raised approximately $1.515 billion, accounting for about 67.8% of the total disclosed funding this month. Overall, the cryptocurrency funding market showed a clear rebound in value in July. Investors such as Coinbase Ventures, Dragonfly, and Hack VC remained active, with capital primarily flowing toward exchanges, asset tokenization, institutional-grade financial infrastructure, and AI/computing-related infrastructure projects.
