JPMorgan expands institutional adoption of JPM Coin by launching it on Ethereum on October 19. The token, JPMD, joins its existing deployment on Base, offering institutional clients a public-blockchain option for dollar deposits. Access is restricted to qualified institutional users, with no retail availability. The move aligns JPM Coin with the Ethereum Virtual Machine and on-chain news from JPMorgan’s tokenized money-market funds, including MONY and JLTXX, available via Morgan Money.

JPMorgan made JPM Coin available on Ethereum on October 19, giving institutional clients another public-blockchain route to send and receive dollar deposits. The launch adds Ethereum's main network alongside JPM Coin's existing availability on Base. JPM Coin uses the ticker JPMD and digitally represents a bank deposit. JPMorgan's Ethereum announcement says JPM Coin supports peer-to-peer transfers between institutional clients in the Ethereum Virtual Machine ecosystem, including Base and Ethereum.

Participation remains limited to JPMorgan's institutional client base. Use of a public network does not make JPM Coin available to every Ethereum wallet holder. The announcement includes no retail rollout. JPM Coin became available to institutional clients on Base on November 12, 2025, after a proof of concept began in June 2025. Base is an Ethereum Layer 2 network, while the October launch adds the Layer 1 network itself.

JPMorgan says the expansion puts native cash on the network where institutions already transact with tokenized assets, collateral and counterparties. The expansion brings JPMorgan's payment offerings onto the same public blockchain as JPMorgan's tokenized money-market funds. JPMorgan Asset Management launched My OnChain Net Yield Fund, or MONY, on Ethereum on December 15, 2025. The private-placement money-market fund is available to qualified investors through Morgan Money, JPMorgan Asset Management's investment platform.

The JPMorgan OnChain Liquidity-Token Money Market Fund, or JLTXX, followed on May 13, 2026. JLTXX is a US-registered government money-market fund that qualified investors can also access through Morgan Money. JPMD represents a bank deposit used for payments, while MONY and JLTXX provide fund exposure through tokens. Access to a fund through Morgan Money does not establish eligibility to use JPM Coin.

Sharing Ethereum brings payment and investment activities closer together. However, the October announcement does not specify a live facility for using JPMD to subscribe to or redeem either fund. The products' presence on one network does not itself connect those processes. JPMorgan describes programmable treasury through institutional clients' wallet interfaces as a potential use of the deposit token.
