BlockBeats report: On August 14, multiple current and former U.S. officials revealed that over the past year, Israel has repeatedly warned U.S. intelligence agencies and the White House that Iran is plotting to assassinate Trump, with specific methods including snipers, assassins, and shoulder-fired missile attacks.
It is reported that the relevant warnings began prior to the Israel-Iran conflict in June 2025 and significantly increased before the U.S. decision in February to launch military action against Iran. In July of this year, Israel also warned that Iran might use shoulder-fired missiles to attack Air Force One during Trump’s attendance at the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey. In response, U.S. authorities implemented enhanced security measures and relocated Trump to another aircraft.
However, multiple sources stated that the CIA was never able to verify the specific assassination intelligence provided by Israel through independent channels, assessing it as "low confidence." Turkey also said its intelligence agency found no evidence at the time to corroborate the threat.
Nevertheless, the intelligence still influenced the Trump administration's policy toward Iran. According to knowledgeable sources, Israel's warning about an assassination plot was one of the factors considered when President Trump decided in February this year to take military action against Iran.
Currently, the tense situation between the U.S. and Iran is further extending into the economic sphere. U.S. Treasury Secretary Bentsen stated that next week, a series of significant measures targeting Iran will be announced, including further tightening of economic sanctions and restricting the flow of goods to and from Iranian ports through sustained military interdiction in the Strait of Hormuz.
