Irish police stated that their X platform account was "unauthorizedly accessed," but their systems were unaffected, and "no police data was lost or compromised."

Police spokesperson warn the public not to interact with any content posted by the X accounts @GardaTraffic or @GardaInfo, or with any other accounts claiming to be these accounts.
An Garda Síochána stated: “An Garda Síochána continues to conduct an internal investigation and is working with X platform to understand how this unauthorized access occurred.”
Some posts on certain accounts have been flagged with a warning, indicating that these posts are associated with another account that has been suspended, and the location of these accounts has been changed to Amsterdam.
On Wednesday morning, the @GardaTraffic account, with 600,000 followers, still claimed to be the official account for Garda traffic and road safety updates. The @GardaInfo account, with nearly 300,000 followers, displayed no bio information, but earlier posts from An Garda Síochána were still visible.
