According to ChainCatcher, citing Reuters and sources familiar with the matter, after Anthropic disclosed its latest financial data, some existing and potential IPO investors are considering lowering their valuation expectations. At an investor event in San Francisco on October 14, some investors discussed a valuation of approximately $1.5 trillion, below the previous expectation of around $2 trillion for an November IPO.
Anthropic disclosed to investors that revenue for the third quarter increased by 45% quarter-over-quarter to $16.8 billion and achieved adjusted profitability. However, second-quarter revenue had more than doubled to $11.6 billion, and the slowdown in growth disappointed some investors. The aforementioned valuation is under investor discussion and has not yet been finalized for an IPO; Anthropic did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
