CoinMarketCap reports:

Interactive Brokers has further expanded its AI trading tools by adding ChatGPT and Grok to its existing Claude integration, extending AI instruction support from stocks and ETFs to options, futures, and futures options. For a broker serving over 170 markets worldwide, this signifies that AI is now entering processes closer to the order execution stage.

Integrate three mainstream models

According to the company’s description, customers can access these AI tools through authenticated market connections, logging in directly with their existing IBKR accounts—no new account is required, and no passwords or API keys need to be shared with the AI platform. These features are also available at no additional cost.

After integration, users can query their holdings, retrieve market information, and generate trading instructions using natural language. CEO Milan Galik said investors are increasingly using AI as a natural interface to interact with the market, so the company continues to expand model integrations and supported asset classes.

Options and futures now supported

Another key focus of this update is extending the scope of AI-generated instructions to more complex derivatives. In addition to stocks and ETFs, the system now supports options, futures, and futures options.

  • Supports options trading order generation
  • Supports futures trading order generation
  • Supports generation of futures options trading orders

This means users can describe strategies in conversational terms, and the system will generate the corresponding commands. For example, the article notes that investors can ask the AI to find option strategies that protect gains on the top five stock positions in their portfolio, generate buy orders for near-month ICE crude oil futures contracts, or scan their holdings for technical signals.

Orders must be reviewed before submission.

After AI moves closer to the trading process, account security and the risk of accidental actions have become the primary concerns for external stakeholders. Interactive Brokers' approach is to retain the final decision-making authority with the client themselves.

All instructions generated by ChatGPT, Grok, or Claude will first be routed to the platform’s dedicated AI Instructions page. Orders will only be submitted to the market after the customer has reviewed each item individually and provided explicit approval; the system does not execute automatically.

In addition to model integration and order placement, Interactive Brokers currently offers several AI-powered features on the platform, including natural language filtering of over 70,000 global stocks, discovering related companies and industries by theme, holding-based Q&A using account data, and generating news summaries based on holdings and watchlists.
