PANews, July 31: According to CoinDesk, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna stated that quantum computing is expected to generate significant revenue and profits for IBM by 2028 or 2029, and he believes that by the end of the 2030s, this technology could unlock approximately $1 trillion in value. IBM, along with companies such as Alphabet, IonQ, and Rigetti Computing, is accelerating the development of quantum hardware and software to address problems too complex for classical computers in areas such as materials simulation, supply chain optimization, and the development of new materials and drugs. IBM has already used quantum computing to explore the properties of new materials and is collaborating with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s CHIPS Program to build an independent quantum chip foundry, with a total investment of approximately $2 billion.
