BlockBeats report, May 4: The decentralized exchange Hyperliquid has officially launched the HIP-4 event contract. On its first day of trading, the product achieved a notional volume of 6.05 million contracts, accounting for approximately 0.7% of the total prediction market volume for the day.
In comparison, the daily trading volume on leading prediction market platforms remains significantly higher: Kalshi at approximately 546 million contracts, Polymarket at approximately 190 million, Limitless at approximately 68.26 million, Crypto.com at approximately 28.2 million, Opinion at approximately 25.72 million, and Predict.fun at approximately 11.8 million.
Data shows that although Hyperliquid entered the event contract market with a relatively small initial scale, it has already achieved initial trading volume, signaling its formal entry into the prediction market competition. In the short term, leading platforms still hold a dominant liquidity advantage; future growth will depend on product design and user migration capabilities.
