Meme coin news broke as Hunter Biden is set to launch LAPTOP on Base on September 9. The token has a 1 billion supply, with 30% allocated to the team, locked for six months and fully unlocked over two years. A 20% airdrop will target TRUMP meme coin victims and Substack followers. Another 20% will fund charity and liquidity. On-chain details reveal a token-burning plan tied to 30 events, including a Democratic win in 2028 or a Bitcoin all-time high, which could burn up to 30% of the supply.

ChainThink reports that on September 7, according to The Wall Street Journal, Hunter Biden, son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, will launch a meme coin named LAPTOP, after his laptop incident, set to launch on Coinbase’s Base network on September 9.

The founding team (including Hunter Biden) will hold 30% of the total token supply (1 billion tokens), which will be locked for six months and fully unlocked over two years.

An additional 20% of tokens will be airdropped in two batches to users who incurred losses on the Trump meme coin TRUMP, subscribers to Hunter Biden’s Substack and their friends, and users on the email list maintained by video journalist Andrew Callaghan.

The remaining 20% will be allocated to charitable donations, liquidity and distribution to exchange partners and market makers, as well as covering the token foundation’s accounting, legal, administrative, and compliance costs.

The team has also established a burn mechanism involving 30 predefined events; if any of these events are achieved within the specified timeframes—such as the Democratic Party winning the 2028 presidential election, Bitcoin reaching a new all-time high, or LAPTOP’s fully diluted valuation surpassing TRUMP—up to 30% of the token supply may be burned.

If not achieved, the tokens will be proportionally donated to charitable organizations.

Reports indicate that Hunter Biden has recently been active on podcasts, news programs, and Substack articles, sharing his views on cryptocurrency and commenting on the dispute between the Trump family’s crypto project, World Liberty Financial, and Sun Zhen.
