Previously, according to The Wall Street Journal, Hunter Biden, son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, plans to launch a meme coin themed around his "laptop" incident, with the token symbol "$LAPTOP," scheduled to launch on September 9 on Coinbase’s Base network.
According to insiders, the total supply of $LAPTOP is 1 billion tokens, with the founding team, including Hunter Biden, holding 30%; the associated tokens will be locked for six months and vest over two years. An additional 20% will be distributed in two tranches to investors who previously purchased the Trump meme coin $TRUMP and incurred losses, as well as Hunter Biden’s Substack subscribers.
Additionally, the project team plans to burn up to 30% of the tokens based on the outcomes of 30 predefined events, including the Democratic Party winning the 2028 U.S. presidential election, Bitcoin reaching a new all-time high, and the fully diluted valuation of $LAPTOP exceeding that of $TRUMP. If any of these events fail to materialize, the corresponding percentage of tokens will be donated to charitable organizations.
