Boston, October 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Korean sleep medicine AI company HoneyNaps today announced its selection for the 2026 Eurostars international R&D program, supported in Korea by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT).
Eurostars is a multinational R&D funding program operated by the Eureka Network and co-funded by the European Union. The selected project, titled “Development of a Spectral Electromagnetic Sensing and AI Platform for Non-Invasive Neuro-Monitoring,” will be jointly carried out by HoneyNaps, Yonsei University, Dankook University, Uppsala University in Sweden, and Xantage AB.
The consortium will develop and validate an integrated platform for non-invasive monitoring of intracranial pressure (ICP) changes and sleep status. The project will combine the expertise of participating institutions from South Korea and Sweden in sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and clinical platforms.
The project aims to develop an integrated platform reaching Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL 6), combining a compact chip-level vector network analyzer (VNA), SansEC microwave resonant sensors, physics-informed artificial intelligence, and wireless multi-channel polysomnography (PSG) signal analysis. The platform is designed to continuously estimate intracranial pressure changes and automatically analyze sleep staging and sleep events. The project will also establish the technical and documentation framework required for submission under the European Union Medical Device Regulation (MDR).
As part of the project, HoneyNaps will conduct wireless acquisition and analysis of EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, SpO₂, and respiratory signals. Its goal is to combine the clinical insights provided by laboratory polysomnography with the convenience of home-based monitoring to enable automated analysis of sleep staging and key sleep events.
Sean Ha (Taekyoung Ha), President of HoneyNaps USA, said: "By integrating electromagnetic sensing with sleep biometric signal analysis, this project will evaluate the potential of non-invasive neural monitoring. We will work with partners in Korea and Sweden to phase-wise validate the sensor, artificial intelligence, and platform, laying the foundation for clinical applications and global market entry."
