According to ME News, on August 28 (UTC+8), Foresight News reported live that Brian Roberts, Head of Stock Product Development at the Hong Kong Exchange, responded to questions regarding whether Hong Kong’s Bitcoin ETFs could reach mainland investors via the Connect mechanism at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference in Hong Kong. He stated that the Connect mechanism has always been built on mutual recognition, requiring mainland China to have its own ETFs tracking cryptocurrencies that are comparable in nature to those in Hong Kong; only then could inclusion of such products become possible, which would represent a key breakthrough. When Moon Inc.’s Chief Operating Officer Russ Jacobsen asked whether there was still a long way to go to achieve this, Roberts replied, “Probably yes.” (Source: Foresight News)
