HBAR price fell 2.14% to $0.08014 as unverified reports of USDOT adopting Hedera for 300 million vehicles failed to gain confirmation. The claim comes from a patent linked to a USDOT official (US20250378436A1), but neither party has verified the integration. Price analysis shows HBAR struggling near the $0.082–$0.085 resistance level, with crypto price movements reflecting market skepticism.

The US Department of Transportation [USDOT] was rumoured to adopt Hedera after it went viral on social media; however, HBAR lost 2.14% of its price.

The posts refer to a patent that includes a mention of Hedera, but USDOT and Hedera have not announced any integration relating to USDOT-registered vehicles.

Patent mention becomes an adoption claim

A post has appeared stating that USDOT are integrating Hedera for payment and settlements on over 300 million vehicles.

The claim can be traced to a reported patent application, US20250378436A1, that is associated with a USDOT official. It is proposed to have a nationwide system for tax to be paid while travelling a distance.

While it states Hedera is one technology that would allow payments in such a system, it does not mean that USDOT has chosen and deployed the network.

Patent applications commonly describe several possible technologies when explaining how an idea could work. But what they don’t do is confirm that a government agency plans to build or purchase the proposed system.

At the time of writing, no matching announcement was available from USDOT, Hedera or the Hedera Council.

HBAR price remains below resistance

HBAR changed hands for $0.08014 at the write-up time and got up to $0.08293 earlier in the session, coming down again and leaving the token with a 2.14% loss.

The retreat shows that buyers are still struggling around $0.082–$0.085. HBAR would need to move above that area and remain there before a stronger recovery towards $0.09 becomes more likely.

The token has nevertheless improved from its August low near $0.065, and its latest decline therefore interrupts the recovery without erasing it.

If the selling persists, the first area for buyers to return to will be around the $0.075 mark; a fall beneath there would then expose $0.07, and then the August lows around $0.065.

However, trading remains unbalanced with no side holding any advantage, and finding a rally into $0.10 will be a long shot, as a price breakthrough with confirmation or any news coming from official source is needed to support the rally.

Final Summary

  • HBAR fell by 2.14% after an intraday high of $0.08293 as resistance between $0.082-$0.085 held.
  • A patent mentioning Hedera does not mean that USDOT has adopted or deployed the network.
