HashKey Group (stock code: 3887.HK), a mature, comprehensive digital assets company in Asia, today announced a partnership with TradeGo, a leading global digital platform for cross-border trade. Together, they will build a digital asset financing platform tailored for cross-border trade scenarios by digitizing and tokenizing trade documents such as electronic bills of lading, exploring innovative applications of real-world assets (RWA) in trade finance, and enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of trade asset liquidity and financing.

Cross-border trade financing has long relied on documents such as bills of lading as critical evidence of ownership and performance. Under traditional models, the review of trade documents, confirmation of ownership, and financing approval typically involve coordination among multiple institutions, resulting in complex processes and extended timelines. This not only increases operational costs but also hampers the efficiency of corporate cash flow. For small and medium-sized trading companies, even with genuine trade backgrounds and goods in transit, timely access to financing can be difficult due to low document verification efficiency and opaque ownership information.

In this collaboration, the HashKey Issuance Platform (HIP) will serve as the underlying digital asset infrastructure, mapping trade documents such as electronic bills of lading into on-chain digital credentials, and enabling asset status tracking and business process automation through smart contracts to provide a trusted data foundation for trade finance. TradeGo will be responsible for core business processes including the issuance, transfer, and verification of electronic bills of lading, as well as authenticity validation of trade assets, enterprise onboarding, and risk control.

Electronic bills of lading, as key legal instruments representing ownership in international trade, serve as important digital carriers of real-world assets. Through this collaboration, trusted digital financial infrastructure enables the creation of verifiable, traceable, and manageable digital representations of genuine trade assets, transforming documents such as electronic bills of lading into digital assets capable of supporting trade finance. This not only enhances the management of trade assets throughout their entire lifecycle but also reduces corporate asset verification costs and improves trade finance efficiency, providing a replicable practical pathway for the application of real-world assets (RWA) in trade finance.

Li Chen, CEO of HashKey On-Chain, said: “Trade finance is a vital application of digital asset technologies serving the real economy. Currently, Hong Kong is actively promoting the digitalization of trade finance, exploring ways to enhance financing efficiency and improve small and medium enterprise access to capital through trusted trade and logistics data. This collaboration with TradeGo is a proactive step in this direction. HashKey On-Chain aims to leverage institutional-grade digital asset infrastructure to create trustworthy, verifiable digital representations of real trade assets, fostering closer integration among trade data, digital assets, and financial services, and providing foundational support for Hong Kong’s digitalization of trade finance and the development of its digital asset ecosystem.”

Yu Yingjiao, CEO of TradeGo, said: “The digitalization of cross-border trade is not merely about converting paper documents into electronic formats; more importantly, it involves building a trustworthy and verifiable data foundation. This partnership with HashKey will further enhance the value of digital trade documents, such as electronic bills of lading, in trade finance, enabling financial institutions to more efficiently identify authentic trade assets while helping trade enterprises improve financing efficiency and reduce communication and verification costs, providing a more efficient and trustworthy solution for the digitalization of cross-border trade.”
