Dr. Xiao Feng, Chairman and CEO of HashKey Group, today participated in Hong Kong FinTech Week 2026, engaging in a fireside chat with Jerry Zhang, Global Head of RMB Commercialisation and Global Head of Banks and Broker Dealers at Standard Chartered. Dr. Xiao noted that as traditional financial institutions accelerate their entry into the digital assets market, the industry’s focus is gradually shifting toward meeting institutional financial demands and building scalable service capabilities. This shift is also driving digital asset service providers to transition from trading platforms to institutional-grade financial infrastructure.
Xiao Feng stated that as banks, insurance companies, and asset management institutions participate in asset tokenization, the market is placing higher demands on clearing and settlement, counterparty risk management, and compliance operations. The central clearing mechanisms developed over decades in traditional financial markets provide important reference for enhancing institutional-grade services in the digital asset market. After listing in Hong Kong in December 2025, HashKey has focused on building a service system that meets the needs and standards of financial institutions, developing clearing and related financial infrastructure capabilities for institutional clients—a key focus area for HashKey’s next phase of development.
Looking ahead, as AI agents and intelligent robots gradually become new economic actors, the users of money will expand from natural persons and traditional enterprises to intelligent entities. Meanwhile, standardized measurement methods such as AI tokens enable the consumption and value of intelligent services to be quantified, driving intelligent services toward measurability and pricing, and giving rise to new forms of digital assets and demand for financial services. Xiao Feng believes that the changing nature of money users and the evolving methods of digital asset creation will be two key drivers propelling the further integration of traditional and digital financial systems.
Xiao Feng stated that over the next five to ten years, the development of the AI economy is expected to significantly expand the customer base and asset scale of financial markets. For HashKey, building financial infrastructure tailored for institutional clients is a key response to current market demands; proactively adapting to the financial needs brought by AI agents, intelligent robots, and new types of digital assets represents a long-term strategy for the next-generation digital economy.
