Hashdex will liquidate its DEFI Bitcoin ETF, with the final trading day set for August 17. The fund will stop accepting new creation orders after the close of trading that day and will be delisted from NYSE Arca. Shareholders will receive cash distributions around August 28, based on the fund’s net asset value. As of July 30, the ETF held $14.7 million in assets. Recent ETF inflows have shown mixed trends, while trading volume has remained steady.

Hashdex will close and liquidate its DEFI Bitcoin ETF, marking another shift in the competitive U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market. The fund will end trading on August 17 after attracting limited assets despite growing interest in digital investment products.

The decision reflects Hashdex’s broader effort to refine its product lineup and focus on strategies with stronger investor demand. Although the ETF will disappear, the asset manager will continue serving U.S. investors through its remaining investment offerings, which collectively manage more than $200 million.

Timeline for Investors

Investors can trade DEFI shares on NYSE Arca until the market closes on August 17. Additionally, the fund will stop processing new creation orders after trading ends that day. Consequently, the exchange will remove the ETF from its listings immediately afterward.

Shareholders who retain their positions through the final trading session will receive cash distributions around August 28. The payout will reflect the fund’s net asset value after liquidation expenses and market movements.

Liquidation Process Begins

Hashdex managed approximately $14.7 million in DEFI assets as of July 30. Moreover, the company based its decision on trading activity, operating costs, liquidity, investor participation, and product strategy.

Following delisting, the fund will sell its remaining Bitcoin holdings and complete its wind-down process. However, Bitcoin price swings before liquidation could significantly influence the final cash amount distributed to investors.
