According to ChainCatcher, cryptocurrency asset management firm Hashdex will shut down and liquidate its U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF, the Hashdex Bitcoin ETF, which manages approximately $14.7 million in assets. The fund will cease trading and be delisted after the close on August 17. Shareholders who still hold the fund are expected to receive a cash distribution around August 28, following the sale of the fund’s remaining Bitcoin holdings. Hashdex stated that after the final trading day, the fund will liquidate its remaining Bitcoin positions and will only engage in winding-down activities, including preserving asset value, settling liabilities, and distributing remaining assets to shareholders. Hashdex noted that the decision to liquidate was made after evaluating the fund’s assets under management, trading liquidity, operational costs, investor interest, and its position within the company’s overall product lineup. The company stated that it continues to manage over $200 million in investment products for U.S. investors.
