Malaysian licensed digital asset firm Halogen Capital has secured $3.2 million in funding led by Kenanga Investment Bank. The round values the firm at 13.3 million ringgit, with Kenanga’s private equity arm now holding a 14.9% stake. Digital asset regulation in Malaysia continues to evolve as the firm expands its real-world asset tokenization efforts. The funding will support growth in unit trusts, bonds, sukuk, private credit, and real estate. Other backers include 500 Global, Digital Currency Group, and Mythos Venture Partners. The move comes amid ongoing discussions on capital gains tax frameworks for crypto assets in the region.
