ChainThink reports that on August 12, developers discovered a feature flag, `enable_grok_4_6_announcement`, embedded in the frontend of Grok’s official website, currently set to false, indicating that the release channel has been prepared but not yet activated.
Previously, Grok 4.6 briefly appeared in Cursor’s model list before being removed. The page indicated that the model offers a 256K context window, designed for complex, long-running agent programming tasks.
As of now, neither Cursor nor SpaceXAI has officially announced a launch.
