This model is primarily designed for complex, long-running Agent programming tasks, with the interface displaying 256K context and high-effort mode; however, once selected, these features cannot be invoked. This appears to be an early preview rather than an official release.
Elon Musk previously stated that Grok 4.6 is a 1.5-trillion-parameter model, with key upgrades focused on supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning; he initially announced a release around August 7, then later suggested it might launch this week.
