According to潮向 Research, a Goldman Sachs report dated August 2 noted that the commonly used $800 billion estimate for AI investment underestimates the global scale by approximately $200 billion. Goldman Sachs estimates global AI investment will reach about $1.019 trillion in 2026, with approximately $581 billion in the United States. AI investment as a share of U.S. GDP is projected to rise from 1.8% in 2026 to 2.5% in 2027 and reach 2.8% in 2028. Short-term leading indicators suggest continued resilience in growth, but trade data from June and July show a moderate decline from extremely high levels. Approximately 8% of nominal investment growth in the first half of 2026 stemmed from price factors, as inflation is eroding real growth.
