As per Bpaynews, Goldman Sachs has extended its USD/CNY projections, maintaining a constructive outlook on the yuan. The bank forecasts USD/CNY at 6.95 in three months, 6.90 in six months, and 6.85 in twelve months. It argues the yuan remains fundamentally undervalued, with external demand stabilizing and growth expectations improving. The People’s Bank of China’s methodical daily fixing is seen as supporting a gradual, managed appreciation path. A steadier yuan could act as a regional anchor, easing FX volatility across Asia. Key risks include domestic growth relapses, adverse global yield dynamics, and trade flow deterioration.
