Goldman Sachs Acquires Innovator ETFs in $2 Billion Deal to Expand Buffer Fund Portfolio

Citing CoinPaper, Goldman Sachs has agreed to acquire Innovator Capital Management for $2 billion, expanding its ETF portfolio with over $28 billion in assets. The deal includes more than 150 buffer ETFs, which limit downside risk while capping gains. These products charge higher fees (around 0.80%) compared to traditional index ETFs, offering Goldman a revenue boost in a low-cost market. The acquisition elevates Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s ETF assets to $79 billion, positioning it among the top 10 active ETF issuers.
