Gold Outperforms Bitcoin in 2025 De-peg Narrative, But Bitcoin ETPs See Stronger Inflows

Bitcoin news shows gold rising 65% in 2025, outpacing Bitcoin’s 7% annual drop after an 8-month 30% gain. Bitcoin fell 36% from its October peak, while U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF holdings dropped 3.6% to 1.32 million BTC by December 19. Bitcoin analysis from Bitwise’s Bradley Duke notes stronger ETP inflows for Bitcoin compared to gold. Despite the price correction, ETF AUM fell less than 4%. iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBT) now holds nearly 780,000 BTC, controlling 60% of the market.
