The strategic plan aims to build a three-node Physical AI data factory network, starting with a new 5,000-square-meter hub in Italy that connects real-world robotics learning, digital twin simulations, and AMD Helios™ infrastructure to accelerate the deployment of humanoid robots in European industrial environments.
Key points
- Physical AI Data Factory Network: Generative Bionics is developing a proprietary network comprising three facilities, starting with a 5,000-square-meter hub in Italy, scheduled to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2027, followed by a second facility expansion elsewhere in Europe and a third facility targeting global markets. This network will replicate real industrial environments for robot learning, data generation, and validation.
- European humanoid robot autonomy: This network will provide Europe with a proprietary, end-to-end Physical AI infrastructure, covering everything from real-world robot data to large-scale digital twin simulations and AI computing power, enabling the generation, training, and validation of the data, models, and technical knowledge behind industrial humanoid robots on the European continent.
- AMD—Strategic Partner from Day One: From AMD Ventures participating in the seed round of Generative Bionics, to GENE.01 powered by AMD compute, and further to the AMD Helios™ system supporting the Data Factory network, AMD is a full-stack partner in Generative Bionics’ Physical AI technology stack, delivering high-performance computing and storage capabilities for physical and synthetic data processing, model training, and parallel digital twin simulations.
- The development process from reality to simulation and back to reality: Tasks performed by GENE.01 in the physical environment will be reconstructed as digital twins and repeatedly executed under thousands of varying conditions. Models trained in simulation will be deployed back onto the robot for real-world validation.
- Industrial validation: This infrastructure will train World Action Models, validate complete robot configurations before customer deployment, and continuously improve performance using operational data as the robot fleet accumulates runtime.
Milan, October 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Deep tech company Generative Bionics, developing humanoid robots for industrial applications, today announced at CES Unveiled Milan its plan to build a proprietary, multi-site Physical AI data factory to propel humanoid robots from laboratory demonstrations to reliable industrial deployment, and to advance Europe’s autonomous capabilities in humanoid robotics by ensuring that the data, models, and technical knowledge behind European industrial humanoid robots are generated, trained, and validated on the European continent.
The first 5,000-square-meter hub is planned for Italy and is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2027, followed by a second facility in other parts of Europe and a third facility serving the global market. The company states that these three facilities will collectively replicate real industrial environments, generate high-fidelity physical data, and connect this data to large-scale digital twin simulations.

Large language models learn from vast amounts of information on the internet. Humanoid robots, however, lack a comparable source of data on how to act in the physical world. This data factory will create such data by collecting information generated as GENE.01 performs industrial tasks and expanding these experiences through digital twin simulations powered by AMD computing.
Based on the strategic technology partnership between the two parties, AMD will become Generative Bionics’ AI infrastructure partner, and this data factory network will be powered by AMD Helios™. The company states that its rack-level architecture will provide the computational foundation to process physical and synthetic data, train Physical AI models, and run thousands of digital twin scenario variations in parallel.
This data factory will connect real-world robot operations, simulations, and AI development into a continuous "reality-to-simulation-and-back-to-reality" loop. Generative Bionics says this will enable it to configure and validate GENE.01 for specific industrial environments before customer deployment, then feed data from deployed robot fleets into subsequent training cycles.
Physical AI Data Factory for Industrial Deployment
Industrial humanoid robots must learn from the conditions they will encounter in their work. This requires capturing data on contact, force, motion, distance, temperature, task constraints, and human-robot interactions from real-world operating environments. For GENE.01, the dataset will include visual and motion data, along with signals collected through its full-body multimodal skin.
The company stated that its first data factory hub, spanning 5,000 square meters, is set to become Europe’s largest humanoid robot Physical AI training facility. The facility will replicate environments selected in collaboration with industrial partners and enable multiple GENE.01 robots to continuously perform tasks under real-world conditions. These operations will generate high-fidelity physical data to train world action models and validate the complete robotic system—including perception, control, safety behaviors, and task execution—before deployment at customer sites.
Each physical environment and robot configuration will also be recreated as a digital twin. The same tasks can then be repeated thousands of times under varying layouts, objects, materials, operating conditions, and failure modes—changes that would be impractical to replicate in the physical world. Models trained and tested in simulation will be redeployed to the robots for validation, and data generated during physical operations will feed into the next training cycle.
AMD Helios™ infrastructure for Physical AI
As part of the planned collaboration, Generative Bionics stated its intention to leverage AMD’s high-performance AI computing infrastructure to support the development of its Physical AI data factory network. This infrastructure is expected to deliver scalable computational power to meet the needs of AI model training, physical and synthetic data processing, and digital twin simulations. Generative Bionics will co-locate its robotics, AI, and data engineering teams with this infrastructure to manage the entire workflow—from raw multimodal robotics data to curated datasets, validated models, and robotic swarm deployments. Consequently, this data factory will integrate physical environments, data engineering, simulation, model training, and swarm deployment through a shared, multi-site infrastructure.
Daniele Pucci, CEO of Generative Bionics, said: “We are replicating the world at both physical and digital levels to enable large-scale training before humanoid robots enter real-world environments. The Physical AI data factory is exactly how we achieve this: the GENE.01 robot fleet learns from real industrial tasks, and we leverage AMD’s computing power to stress-test these skills across thousands of digital twin scenarios, then reintegrate the validated world-action models back into physical environments. This infrastructure enables Physical AI’s action intelligence layer to deploy in real customer settings. AMD has been with us from day one—supporting GENE.01 and now sitting at the core of the data factory. We are building this network in Europe, ensuring that the data, models, and infrastructure powering industrial humanoid robots are developed and operated on European soil.”
Keith Strier, Senior Vice President of AMD’s Global AI Market, said: “Physical AI represents an exciting opportunity to bring the power of AI into the physical world, creating new possibilities for automation and industrial innovation. With AMD Helios™ powering Italy’s first Physical AI data factory, we are delivering scalable, high-performance computing infrastructure to turn this potential into reality. Our collaboration with Generative Bionics marks a significant step forward in advancing Europe’s AI and industrial autonomy capabilities, supporting the development and deployment of next-generation intelligent robotics applications while strengthening Europe’s innovation capacity.”
