The French AI firm AMI Labs has closed a $1.03 billion project funding round led by Greycroft, Cathay Innovation, and Bezos Expeditions, valuing the company at $3.5 billion. Founded by Yann LeCun, former chief of Meta AI, AMI Labs aims to develop AI with adult-level reasoning and learning capabilities. LeCun confirmed that Meta is a partner but not an investor. The project funding underscores the growing momentum at the intersection of AI and crypto as the firm targets general intelligence.

ChainThink reports that on March 10, according to official announcements, Advanced Machine Intelligence Labs (AMI Labs), the AI company founded by Yann LeCun, former Chief AI Scientist at Meta Platforms, has completed a $1.03 billion (approximately €890 million) funding round. The round was co-led by Cathay Innovation, Greycroft, Hiro Capital, HV Capital, and Bezos Expeditions, with additional participation from investors and angel investors worldwide. This funding round values the French company at $3.5 billion.

Although Meta is regarded by LeCun as a "partner, not an investor," it did not participate in this funding round.

Yann LeCun stated that AMI Labs will develop an artificial intelligence with intelligence comparable to that of an adult human, capable of reasoning, planning, understanding the physical world, and autonomously learning from very few examples.
