Free Chrome VPN Extension Found Collecting User Conversations with AI Platforms

A free Chrome extension, Urban VPN Proxy, was discovered collecting user conversations with AI platforms like ChatGPT and Claude. The tool, used by six million people and marked as "recommended," sent on-chain data to BiScience for commercial purposes. Proof of Work security expert Idan Dardekhman urged users to remove similar tools and review privacy policies. The extension was pulled from the Chrome Web Store on December 19, 2025.
