According to ChainCatcher, Fortitude Mining, a mining subsidiary of Digital Currency Group (DCG), has signed a $45 million procurement agreement for mining hardware and infrastructure in Nebraska to advance vertical integration in Zcash mining. The expansion includes a $31.5 million commitment for mining equipment purchases and two acquisitions totaling $13.9 million, covering power contracts, land, buildings, and mining equipment. Fortitude states that its controlled data center capacity has increased to over 60 megawatts by 2026. Fortitude is advancing a proposed merger with HeartSciences Inc., a Nasdaq-listed company; if completed, this will grant DCG’s mining subsidiary a public listing. In the first quarter of 2026, Zcash accounted for 61% of Fortitude’s mining revenue, while Bitcoin’s share declined to 36%.
