CoinMarketCap reports:

The newly established Forte Cyber Assurance business will enhance the organization’s ability to conduct objective cybersecurity reviews, compliance verification, and oversight when facing CMMC and other complex regulatory requirements.

Washington, October 22 /PRNewswire/ — Forte Technologies today announced the acquisition of Business Cyber Security Solutions (BCSS). BCSS will now operate under the name Forte Cyber Assurance as a dedicated business unit within Forte Technologies. Forte Technologies is a national company providing managed IT, cybersecurity, private and public cloud, and compliance services.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Inverness, Illinois, BCSS specializes in helping managed service providers (MSPs) expand their cybersecurity and compliance capabilities. The company offers a comprehensive suite of services, including virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO), managed security operations, threat detection and response, vulnerability assessments, and compliance support for frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, CMMC, and NIST. Through its partner-first approach, white-label delivery model, and proprietary Cybersecurity Pyramid framework, BCSS enables MSPs to strengthen client relationships, serve regulated industries, and increase recurring revenue without expanding their internal teams.

Through this acquisition, Forte, as a portfolio company of Broadwing Capital, has added a dedicated CMMC business targeting the defense industrial base. Forte Cyber Assurance provides organizations with objective review, validation, and oversight to demonstrate that their security controls comply with applicable regulatory requirements.

This announcement coincides with Forte’s participation in CS5 East 2026, taking place in Washington from October 22 to 23. The conference brings together defense contractors, cybersecurity professionals, assessors, and compliance experts to focus on the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and the evolving requirements of the defense industrial base.

Independently designed

Forte Cyber Assurance includes a dedicated CMMC service team led by the Director of CMMC Services, comprising Registered Practitioners (RPs) and Registered Practitioner Advanced (RPA) professionals. This team assists defense contractors in defining their Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) environments, developing System Security Plans and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), addressing gaps against NIST SP 800-171, and preparing for both self-assessments and Level 2 certification assessments conducted by Certified Third-Party Assessment Organizations (C3PAOs). For contractors requiring a compliant environment, Forte also provides managed CMMC secure isolation environments based on Microsoft GCC High and secure virtual desktops, along with ongoing compliance maintenance following assessment.

Forte Cyber Assurance operates independently from Forte’s technology and cybersecurity delivery teams, providing an objective review of the security posture, compliance readiness, and supporting evidence. This separation enables organizations to demonstrate the effectiveness of their security programs to auditors, regulators, insurers, customers, and boards.

Ron Searle, Executive Vice President of Forte’s Cybersecurity Compliance Services, said: “Customers aren’t recognized for controls that can’t be proven. By integrating BCSS into Forte, we’ve preserved the same team and continuity our customers know and trust, while backing them with greater resources. We’ve also separated Cyber Assurance from delivery, ensuring that the evidence we help our customers build stands up to scrutiny.”

Cyber Assurance for Regulated Industries

Forte Cyber Assurance supports organizations in highly regulated industries such as defense contracting, healthcare, financial services, legal, and manufacturing. The business helps companies assess and maintain compliance with requirements and frameworks including CMMC, HIPAA, SOC 2, SEC Regulation S-P, GLBA, PCI DSS, and ISO standards. Forte Cyber Assurance’s capabilities include:

  • CMMC preparation, compliance isolation environment, and ongoing compliance maintenance
  • Cybersecurity and Compliance Readiness Assessment
  • Framework preparation and evidence review
  • Compliance Project Development
  • Ongoing compliance monitoring
  • Consultation, verification, and security testing
  • Penetration testing and vulnerability management
  • Security and Compliance Report

Forte Cyber Assurance follows well-defined governance processes that separate security implementation from independent assessment, with additional oversight of assurance conclusions and client-facing reports. Forte’s approach enables organizations to strengthen their cybersecurity and compliance programs while retaining their existing IT service providers, or to complement the managed IT, cybersecurity, and compliance services offered by Forte Technologies. Organizations gain independent review and validation supported by broader technical resources, helping them identify gaps, enhance readiness, and provide credible evidence of their security and compliance posture.

Bret Kidd, CEO of Forte Technologies, said: “Building on the combined expertise of CloudScale365, Valeo Networks, and PCS International, Forte provides organizations with integrated technical services and specialized capabilities to address increasingly complex security and regulatory obligations. The acquisition of BCSS represents another step in our ongoing investment in professional cybersecurity and compliance capabilities.”
