As per TechFlow, on December 3, former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried praised U.S. President Trump's pardon of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, calling him 'one of the few people who really deserves freedom.' Hernández was previously sentenced to 45 years for drug trafficking. Bankman-Fried, currently serving a 25-year sentence for fraud and conspiracy to steal billions from customers, is seeking clemency from Trump. Analysts note that due to Bankman-Fried's $5.2 million donation to Biden's 2020 campaign against Trump, the likelihood of his pardon is very low. His appeal is currently being reviewed by the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals, with a decision expected next year.
