While previous generations were primarily used for image generation, FLUX 3 integrates images, video, and audio into a single model for the first time. It can generate and edit images, as well as produce videos up to 20 seconds long with synchronized audio. FLUX 3 supports text-to-video, image-to-video, video rewriting, and video continuation. During generation, it can simultaneously add dialogue, ambient sounds, and motion effects, support multilingual dialogue, and chain multiple video segments. Black Forest Labs has also partnered with mimic robotics to develop the FLUX-mimic robot model based on FLUX 3, using the motion and physical laws learned by the video model to predict the next movement of robotic arms. Audi has already tested and deployed it in its factories for tasks such as part sorting, component insertion, and handling flexible materials like cables and seals. Depending on task complexity, FLUX-mimic requires as little as 30 minutes of robot demonstration data—compared to over 30 hours typically needed by previous solutions.
