Derived from MetaEra, on December 27 (UTC+8), the Flow Foundation announced that hackers exploited a vulnerability in the Flow execution layer, siphoning approximately $3.9 million in assets out of the network before validators could coordinate a stop. The attack did not affect user balances, and all deposits remain intact. A protocol fix has been developed and released, with node operators coordinating the upgrade deployment. The network will roll back to a checkpoint before the exploit to remove unauthorized transactions.
