First Digital, issuer of FDUSD, has partnered with South Korean listed company ITCEN to expand on-chain infrastructure connecting the RWA market with global liquidity. The agreement links FDUSD to KGLD, a gold-backed digital asset, and explores corporate settlement applications. ITCEN plans to tokenize $7.2 billion in gold over five years. First Digital aims to establish a South Korean branch by late 2026 to engage with local stablecoin regulations. This initiative could impact the digital asset market and position FDUSD as an altcoin to watch.

According to ME News, on September 9 (UTC+8), First Digital, the issuer of the USD-pegged stablecoin FDUSD, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation with South Korean publicly listed company ITCEN Group to build an on-chain financial infrastructure connecting Korea’s RWA market with global liquidity. Key collaboration initiatives include integrating FDUSD with KGLD, ITCEN’s digital asset backed by physical gold (built on the LayerZero OFT standard), to provide compliant access for international investors. ITCEN plans to tokenize 50 metric tons of gold over the next five years, equivalent to approximately KRW 10 trillion ($7.2 billion). Additionally, the two parties will explore enterprise settlement use cases for FDUSD and advance asset tokenization through the AI-powered payment layer Prism and the financial ecosystem Finance District. First Digital also intends to establish a Korean branch in Q4 2026 to participate in the local stablecoin regulatory framework. (Source: Foresight News)
