According to The Straits Times, Australian AI infrastructure company Firmus has announced a multi-year agreement with OpenAI to provide computing power from two data centers in Malaysia, making OpenAI Firmus’s anchor client. Following the agreement, Firmus’s contracted capacity with global clients has exceeded 900 megawatts. Firmus, backed by institutions including Nvidia, Jane Street, Blackstone, and Coatue Management, has a latest valuation of over $10.5 billion. It currently operates data centers in Australia and Singapore, with five additional facilities under development across the Asia-Pacific region. The company plans to deploy Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin processors at scale across the Asia-Pacific region.
