Figure AI just locked in one of the largest compute deals in the robotics industry, partnering with UK-based AI infrastructure provider Nscale in a collaboration initially valued at $3.5 billion. The goal: deploy up to 100,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs to supercharge Figure’s Helix AI models, which power its humanoid robots.

What Figure is building, and why it needs this much firepower

Figure, founded by Brett Adcock, raised over $1 billion in a Series C funding round in September 2025, achieving a $39 billion post-money valuation. Its focus is humanoid robots designed to operate in real-world environments, and the company’s proprietary Helix AI model is the brain driving those machines.

“Our AI model, Helix, becomes more capable the same way every learned system does: with more data and compute,” said Figure CEO Brett Adcock.

Nscale’s rapid rise

Nscale is a relatively young company, founded in 2024, but it has moved fast. The AI infrastructure provider has raised several billion dollars in equity and debt since its inception, including a $2 billion Series C round that valued the company at $14.6 billion. It has already secured contracts with major hyperscale tech companies, including Microsoft.

“We’re excited to partner with Figure as physical intelligence becomes AI’s next frontier,” said Nscale CEO Josh Payne.

The deal also has a reciprocal dimension. Nscale plans to invest strategically in Figure as part of the arrangement. On the operational side, Nscale will explore using Figure’s humanoid robots to improve supply chain efficiency within its own data center operations.
