Huo Xing Cai Jing reports that Polkadot has issued a security alert: the browser extension of the third-party wallet, Fearless Wallet, was compromised and has intermittently leaked users’ private keys to attackers since February 2025. Investigations revealed that malicious code transmits private keys to servers controlled by attackers whenever users unlock their wallets. According to an announcement from the Polkadot Community Foundation, eight users have reported suspected unauthorized transactions involving 17,286 DOT. Polkadot urges all users who have ever used this extension to immediately generate a new key pair using a different wallet and transfer their assets; simply changing passwords or switching wallet software will not mitigate the risk. Fearless Wallet is developed by an independent team and is not an official Polkadot wallet.
