Odaily Planet Daily reports that affiliated entities of the U.S. political action committee Fairshake, Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress, have collectively spent $2.7 million to support Democratic and Republican candidates running for seats in the 2026 U.S. House of Representatives. The expenditures occurred 22 days before the U.S. midterm elections.
Expenses include over $76,000 in support ads for House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, $73,000 for House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson; U.S. Representatives Pete Aguilar of California and Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey received support of $512,000 and $500,000, respectively.
Fairshake announced several days ago its plan to support an additional 32 House candidates in 2026, with six of them each receiving $1 million in supportive media spending. As of August, Fairshake held $122 million in cash and plans to allocate at least $30 million in media spending to oppose Sherrod Brown’s Senate race in Ohio.
All of the above candidates voted in favor of the Digital Asset Market Transparency Act (CLARITY Act) in 2025. The bill aims to establish regulatory frameworks for the cryptocurrency market and expand the regulatory enforcement authority of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), but it failed to pass a procedural vote in the Senate in September.
