ChainCatcher report, according to Bloomberg, European venture capital firm Sprints has completed its fifth fund raise, totaling €725 million (approximately $810 million). Henrik Persson, co-founder and managing partner of the firm, said the fundraising took about a year, and more than half of the capital has already been deployed to invest in new companies and existing portfolio holdings. Investors include endowments, foundations, pensions, and family offices. Sprints made early investments in Revolut, is the largest shareholder in the secondhand app Vinted, and has also invested in Flightradar24 and payment company Checkout.com. Its portfolio company AI customer service firm Fin was acquired by Salesforce for $3.6 billion this year. Persson stated that the firm has not invested in any foundational AI companies, as most such firms have not yet established viable business models.
