ChainThink reports that on July 31, according to an announcement from the European Commission, the EU has launched a tender for AI Gigafactories, planning to build up to seven industry-led AI Gigafactories.
The European Union and its member states will provide public funding of up to €10 billion, expected to leverage at least €20 billion in private investment, for a total scale exceeding €30 billion. The program is divided into two categories of projects: up to four medium-scale projects and up to three larger-scale projects.
The bid submission deadline is November 12, with results expected to be announced in early 2027; the project must be operational within 18 months after contract signing.
