Mars Finance reports: On July 30, Lefteris Karapetsas (@lefteris.eth), an early core developer of Ethereum, posted on Farcaster to commemorate the 11th anniversary of Ethereum’s launch. “Incredible—11 years have passed. On July 30, 2015, we launched Ethereum from a modest little office in Kreuzberg, Berlin. Since then, everything has changed dramatically. Ethereum has undergone countless transformations, but one thing has remained constant: Ethereum is the world computer.” The old photo shared by Lefteris Karapetsas shows early core developers gathered in their humble office on the day Ethereum’s mainnet went live—July 30, 2015—with a screen in the background displaying “Frontier block #1,028,201,” the genesis block details. Early core developers and contributors, including Gavin Wood, Christian Reitwiessner, and Christoph Jentzsch, celebrated together. Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum’s primary founder and core designer, appeared more quietly at the edge of the photo; at just 21 years old, he stood alongside his team, witnessing this historic moment that would transform the blockchain world.
