ETH price remains near $2,680 after repeated failed attempts to break above $2,800. The resistance level has been tested multiple times without a daily close above it. ETH analysis shows that reclaiming the $2,700s and holding above $2,800 is key for a move toward $3,000. Technical indicators highlight $2,800 as a critical breakout point, with potential to reach $3,050 if momentum builds. ETH price continues to attract institutional interest, with $66 million in daily net inflows into U.S. spot ETFs.

Ethereum is trading near $2,680 after another failed attempt to clear the $2,800 area, leaving ETH stuck between improving institutional demand and a resistance zone that has repeatedly capped the rally.

CoinCodex currently shows Ethereum up about 2.4% over seven days, even though price has slipped modestly over the latest 24 hours. ETH has now tested the $2,800 region several times without securing a convincing daily close above it.

That makes the next move relatively clear: ETH needs to reclaim the upper-$2,700s and hold above $2,800 before the bullish case toward $3,000 strengthens.

$2,800 Is Still the Main Breakout Level

Reuters technical analysis this week identified a bullish continuation setup after ETH broke above roughly $2,661, with potential upside toward $3,050 if momentum holds. The same analysis flagged the $2,775-$2,825 zone as the immediate area where consolidation or selling pressure could appear.

That is exactly what the market has been showing.

ETH recently pushed to around $2,804 before slipping back, reinforcing the idea that $2,800 is not just a psychological level but an active supply zone. Recent market coverage also notes that ETH has failed to close above that region despite multiple attempts.

Coinpaper’s recent Ethereum price analysis focused on the same rejection, making the current question less about reaching $2,800 again and more about finally staying above it.

ETF Demand Is Still Supporting the Bull Case

The institutional side remains constructive.

SoSoValue currently shows roughly $66 million of daily net inflows into U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs, with total ETF assets around $17.7 billion.

That matters because the recent price rejection has not been accompanied by a collapse in ETF demand.

ETH therefore has a reasonably clean setup:

LevelMeaning
$2,600-$2,660Main near-term support
$2,775-$2,825Key resistance
$3,000Psychological target
$3,050Technical upside target

If ETH can reclaim $2,800 and hold above it, the next major target becomes $3,000-$3,050.

If price instead loses the $2,600-$2,660 region, the breakout structure would weaken and the market could revisit lower support.
