ChainCatcher report, according to The Block, the Ethereum Foundation's protocol team has released the Hegotá upgrade EIP priority list, setting the target date of December 2029 for achieving "quantum resistance" on Ethereum's Layer 1 across execution, consensus, and data layers. On the consensus layer, FOCIL (EIP-7805) is classified as an S-tier "must-have" upgrade, enhancing censorship resistance by mandating the inclusion of public mempool transactions. On the execution layer, Frame Transactions (EIP-8141) is also labeled a "must-have," laying the groundwork for native account abstraction, custom signatures, and gas sponsorship by breaking transactions into programmable "frames" for verification, gas payment, and execution, thereby improving post-quantum readiness. The protocol team stated that starting with the "Glamsterdam" fork in Q4 2026, subsequent forks must average approximately 7.2 months apart to ensure the minimum viable post-quantum security milestone is achieved before the anticipated "Q-day" around 2030.
