In accordance with Bitcoin.com, the Ethereum Foundation has completed the migration of its entire treasury, over 160,000 ETH (worth approximately $650 million), to Safe{Wallet}. The move follows months of DeFi testing and aligns with the Foundation’s June 2025 treasury policy to actively participate in Ethereum’s DeFi ecosystem. Safe{Wallet}, operated by Safe Labs, is a widely used smart account standard for multisig wallets. The Ethereum Foundation had previously tested Safe with a separate DeFi-focused account, engaging with protocols like Aave, Cowswap, and Morpho. The migration consolidates the Foundation’s ETH holdings into Safe, replacing its previous custom-built multisig solution. Safe has recently crossed 750 million transactions and is used by major institutions, including Trump-backed World Liberty Financial, which processed over $3 billion in transaction volume through Safe smart accounts.
